The Ceilometer CHM 8k / 15k from LUFFT Germany is a simple, one-wavelength backscatter lidar and is operating ranges of up to 8 kilometers and, respectively up to 15 kilometers to detect multiple cloud layers, cirrus clouds, and aerosol layers. It shows an excellent signal performance, achieved by a stable wavelength, narrow line width microchip Nd:YAG laser operating at 1064 nm.
